Translation and legalization of documents

To be enforceable in Italy, the documents issued by foreign authorities must be legalized by Italian diplomatic-consular representations abroad. These documents, except those drawn up on multilingual models provided for by international conventions, must also be translated into Italian.

The Consulate does not translate documents directly but legalizes translations already made.

It is not necessary that the translation is done by an official translator, as long it is done in a professional manner this Office can legalize it.

To proceed with the legalization, the applicant must present himself, by appointment, at the consular office equipped with the document (in original) to be legalized.  In order to be legalized by the consular office, the documents and related translations must be previously authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
