As of December 7, 2022, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has acceded to the Hague Convention of October 5, 1961 on the Abolition of the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents. As a result, legalization by the Italian Consulate General in Jeddah is no longer necessary for Saudi public documents to be valid in Italy, which must instead be exclusively apostilled. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the body responsible for issuing the apostille, to which users are invited to refer for more information on the procedure to follow. The Consulate General of Italy in Jeddah remains at the disposal of users for further information at the e-mail address anagrafe.gedda@esteri.it
