{"id":2107,"date":"2025-09-01T16:17:29","date_gmt":"2025-09-01T13:17:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/consgedda.esteri.it\/?p=2107"},"modified":"2025-09-01T16:20:49","modified_gmt":"2025-09-01T13:20:49","slug":"bilateral-agreement-between-italy-and-saudi-arabia-on-mutual-visa-exemption-for-holders-of-diplomatic-special-or-service-passports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/consgedda.esteri.it\/en\/news\/dal_consolato\/2025\/09\/bilateral-agreement-between-italy-and-saudi-arabia-on-mutual-visa-exemption-for-holders-of-diplomatic-special-or-service-passports\/","title":{"rendered":"Bilateral Agreement between Italy and Saudi Arabia on Mutual Visa Exemption for Holders of Diplomatic, Special, or Service Passports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Starting from the 13th of August, the\u00a0<strong>Bilateral Agreement between the Government of the Italian Republic and the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia<\/strong>\u00a0 allows the <strong>mutual exemption from short-stay visa requirements<\/strong>\u00a0for\u00a0<strong>holders of diplomatic, special, or service passports<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Agreement, signed in\u00a0<strong>Al Ula on January 26, 2025<\/strong>, allows eligible passport holders to\u00a0<strong>enter and stay in the territory of the other country without a visa for up to 90 days within a six-month period<\/strong>, provided their passport is valid for at least\u00a0<strong>six months<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This exemption applies exclusively to the\u00a0<strong>national territories of Italy and Saudi Arabia<\/strong>. It\u00a0<strong>does not extend to other Schengen Area countries<\/strong>. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Saudi official passport holders intending to enter or transit through other Schengen States are advised to consult the relevant embassies or consulates of those countries in advance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>For\u00a0<strong>stays exceeding 90 days<\/strong>, including assignments at\u00a0<strong>Saudi diplomatic missions based in Italy<\/strong>, a visa remains mandatory.
