(European Union Emergency Travel Document)<\/strong>. This document is valid for a maximum of <strong data-start=\"411\" data-end=\"422\">15 days<\/strong> and may be used exclusively for the journey back to Italy or to the country where the applicant has their permanent residence abroad (provided that the applicant is not a citizen of that country).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"621\" data-end=\"855\">To obtain an EU E.T.D., please contact the Passport Office at <strong data-start=\"683\" data-end=\"711\"><a class=\"decorated-link cursor-pointer\" href=\"mailto:anagrafe.gedda@esteri.it\" rel=\"noopener\" data-start=\"685\" data-end=\"709\">anagrafe.gedda@esteri.it<\/a><\/strong> to arrange an appointment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"621\" data-end=\"855\">On the day of the appointment the following documents must be submitted:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"857\" data-end=\"1376\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1p6qae7\" data-start=\"857\" data-end=\"958\">In the event of <strong data-start=\"875\" data-end=\"901\">passport theft or loss<\/strong>: a report of the theft\/loss filed with the local police;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"9vhgfo\" data-start=\"959\" data-end=\"992\"><a href=\"https:\/\/consrosario.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/ETD-Domanda-di-Richiesta-NUOVO-2025.pdf\"><strong data-start=\"961\" data-end=\"991\">EU E.T.D. application form<\/strong><\/a>;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1w9jvzb\" data-start=\"993\" data-end=\"1036\"><strong data-start=\"995\" data-end=\"1035\">Two recent passport-size photographs<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"19u4o2c\" data-start=\"1037\" data-end=\"1078\"><strong data-start=\"1039\" data-end=\"1063\">Copy of the passport<\/strong>, if available;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"gvkfuc\" data-start=\"1079\" data-end=\"1214\"><strong data-start=\"1081\" data-end=\"1118\">Copy of another identity document<\/strong>. If no identity document is available, the Office will carry out the necessary identity checks;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"d02y6r\" data-start=\"1215\" data-end=\"1376\"><strong data-start=\"1217\" data-end=\"1236\">Proof of travel<\/strong> (airline ticket), with arrival at the destination no later than seven days from the date of submission of the application at the Consulate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1378\" data-end=\"1457\">An application for an <strong data-start=\"1400\" data-end=\"1456\">EU E.T.D. for a minor must be signed by both parents<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-section-id=\"rj8cjz\" data-start=\"1459\" data-end=\"1507\"><strong>IMPORTANT: Obligation to Return the Document<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1509\" data-end=\"1655\">The holder of an EU E.T.D. is required to <strong data-start=\"1551\" data-end=\"1654\">surrender the document to border police or another police authority upon arrival at the destination<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1657\" data-end=\"1809\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">If the destination is a country other than Italy, the holder must return the document to the <strong data-start=\"1750\" data-end=\"1808\">consular office with jurisdiction over the destination<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"z-0 flex min-h-[46px] justify-start\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"[--thread-content-max-width:40rem] @w-lg\/main:[--thread-content-max-width:48rem] mx-auto max-w-(--thread-content-max-width) flex-1\" data-conversation-screenshot-content=\"\">\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pointer-events-none -mt-px h-px translate-y-(--scroll-root-safe-area-inset-bottom)\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Issuance of a Provisional Travel Document (EU E.T.D.)
